Job Purpose:
Coordinates and leads corporate development projects with primary focus on Dayton Lamina’s (DL) inorganic growth strategy through M&A and business development activities. This role will oversee project management for M&A processes, partner throughout the DL organization and with external advisors, and identify and evaluate strategic opportunities for mergers and acquisitions. Works closely with executive management to identify and contact potential acquisition targets then manages the process from due diligence to acquisition and integration.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Lead the development and execution of M&A strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of acquisition opportunities through active prospecting and networking.
- Develop innovative acquisition strategies to expand opportunities and increase revenue growth.
- Coordinate project teams including financial, legal, and internal operational teams to execute transactions.
- Manage the full lifecycle of M&A transactions, from market analysis and sourcing to negotiation, closing, and integration.
- Develop presentations for leadership teams on financial, strategic, and/or transactional matters.
- Conduct thorough risk analysis to identify potential challenges, assess the target’s cultural fit and opportunities within target companies.
- Perform comprehensive financial modeling and quantitative analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Manage due diligence processes to ensure all relevant information is gathered and analyzed accurately.
- Build and maintain relationships with external advisors and other stakeholders involved in M&A activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional sales, marketing, and operational leaders to align M&A activities with company goals.
- Coordinate and communicate with Misumi USA and Misumi Japan HQ on topics related to the projects.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for growth through acquisitions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mergers and acquisitions or corporate finance.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills as well as valuation and financial modeling skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical judgment, and the ability to present effectively.
- Demonstrated conceptual and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to work proactively with limited direct supervision.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Up to 25% travel.
